The criteria used when assessing an application include: low income, disability, single parents, and elderly (and often a combination of several of those factors).  Recently, the board has begun expressly including the criteria of the working disadvantaged, since so many in our community, even while employed, still struggle to make ends meet.  EPHM strives to assess each application objectively and fairly, without judgment or bias of any kind. Each application is voted on separately, on its merits as presented to the board, based on the stated criteria. EPHM does accept applications both where the homeowner can, and cannot, help pay for materials.  These decisions are made on our economic standing and donations and grants received over the year. Your application will be kept confidential: only those with a legitimate, Board-recognized need to know anything about your application will have access to such information.
