Where We Serve

East Parish Housing Ministry is headquartered in the Town of Starks, Maine, where its Board meets monthly in the Sunday school room of United in Christ Presbyterian Church. Just around the corner from the church you will find EPHM’s year-round ministries: the Starks Food Pantry; the Corn Shop building, formerly the site of Helping Hands Thrift Shop, which is soon to be torn down and, we hope, replaced by a new structure; and the Village Green, owned and maintained by EPHM with the express caveat that it always be an open space where the families of the community can gather and play. While EPHM’s housing ministry initially served primarily residents of the Starks, over the years its umbrella of care has extended to include not only Starks but also the eastern portion of the town of Industry (including West Mills), the towns of Anson and North Anson, the northern portion of the town of New Sharon and, on an as-needed and as-appropriate basis, outlying communities within a fair driving/working distance which otherwise would receive no assistance. This region includes within it some of the most economically-deprived and governmentally-underserved areas in the State of Maine.
